2) 520 acre hi-tech industrial park by famed Singapore industrial developer, Ascendas adjacent to SiLC. Phase 1 factories is expected to commence construction by end 2013 and be completed by end 2014.
3) The launch of Afiniti Urban Wellness development and Avira Wellness Resort by joint-venture between Temasek & Khazanah 

4) Completion of Gleneagles Medini Hospital, a 300-bed and 150-suite private hospital across 15 acres of land in Medini, Iskandar Malaysia. Singapore patients will be allowed to use their Medisave to access healthcare services at the hospital.

5) June soft opening of Pinewood Iskandar Malaysia Studios, aiming to transform the Southeast Asia into a destination for filmmakers worldwide, aiming to bring in $1 billion a year and create some 10,000 jobs by 2020.

6) Development of China Mall, a trade and exhibition centre in Gerbang Nusajaya with 1.4 million square feet gross floor area on a 12.94ha site worth RM562 million will house 3,000 merchants from China offering products such as textiles, gifts, souvenirs, furniture, electrical and household appliances, jewellery and toys
7)  Commencement of operations of more UK branch and Singapore universities in EduCity such as MDIS, Raffles American School, University of  Reading, Raffles University Iskandar.

8)  India’s biotechnology firm Biocon Ltd 2014 completion and opening of its RM500 million manufacturing and research & development (R&D) facility in SiLC Iskandar Malaysia, Johor.

In view that Phase 2 will mainly consist of economic drivers to create commercial activities to support a burgeoning population growth in the region and a many residential developments that have been furiously launched in in 2011/2012, I see investing in good commercial properties in 2013 as a wise and strategic move to take advantage of IM's Phase 2 objectives especially when prices are still reasonable at 1st mover status. But this will not be the case in 2-3 years time when the various projects near completion.
